and then he turned three....

My wee little one turned three (or "thwee" as marcus so proudly expains) today, and yesterday we took advantage of the lovely weather to make the best of it. After baking some Sally Lunn bread in the morning (yum!), we headed off to Saratoga for a morning of window shopping at our favourite toy store, strutting down Broadway, and buying some extra birthday goodies from a delicious bakery for the afternoon party. A much needed nap was taken on the way home with just enough time to get the table ready and the house cleaned up before his friend arrived. Everything had the potential of working out beautifully, but with kids 5 and under things can always go in a different direction.....the boys were just a wee tired during the party, and as the emotional breakdowns over sharing the new toys increased with frequency both sets of parents agreed it was time to end the party. Oh well, at least I managed to squeeze in a quick glass of wine and a yummy cupcake!

Sounds like a good party and to get wine and a cupcake... even better. Love the birthday crown, very cute! My 'baby' will be 2 this month!

a glass of wine is almost always a good idea (cupcakes too!) but there's a reason birthdays only come once a year...looks like your little guy had a really special day and i agree the crown is awesome!
